Coupon Lingo and Abbreviations

Coupon Lingo Decoded

I know I’m guilty of using coupon lingo here that a beginning couponer may not understand, so I wanted to add an abbreviations translation here for anyone who is interested!

$1/1, $1/2, etc.: If a coupon is $1 off of one item, then it’s $1/1. If it is $1 off of TWO items, it would be $1/2 and so on.

BOGO: Buy One Get One

CRT: Cash Register Tape (the coupons that print off at the end of your receipt at some stores)

Catalina: The coupons that print from a machine at checkout at grocery stores and some drug stores

ECB: Extra Care Bucks (CVS’s Extra Care rewards that are like cash at CVS).

MM: Money Maker (a deal in which you not only get something for free, but you get money or ECB back for buying it).

OOP: Out of Pocket

P&G: Proctor & Gamble coupon insert (comes out once a month usually)

RP: Red Plum coupon insert

SS: Smart Source coupon insert

WYB: When you Buy (Some deals involve getting something free WYB another item).

Have any questions about these terms or other couponing lingo that you don’t understand? Let me know and I will add them here!
